Anybody in Cal have New Guinia Impatiens live over winter?

I need some close to home advice. Do they overwinter outdoors in zones 17 that are more like 24 in warmth in summer? I actually get the plain six pack Impatiens to live year after year outdoors...even took this years freeze with minimal damage. So,for the first time in 20 years I bought A NG plant. Global and urban warming has sure changed the bay area...
I'm in the San Francisco eastbay area.
