 o
yellow leaves help

I have 2 pots of double flowering impatiens on my north facing front porch... they only get a little sun in the afternoon. I have a self watering container and fill it up and then let it go 2-3 days before watering again. I've read from previous posts that the yellow leaves are from overwatering, could this be the reason for the yellowing of my leaves? When I checked my plant today (after almost 4 days- was on vacation) it was dry and I usually try to keep it somewhat moist, since I've heard they like to stay moist. Am I doing something wrong? And is there anything to do to keep the plants from losing those leaves and new buds?

Some people put perlite in the base of the pot and then the soil on top of that. The soil might be pulling up to much water. Impatiens like to be moist but not sopping wet, at least not these. Then again old leaves to yellow and fall off. And double flower are notorious for fall off before they bloom.
