Too hot!

We've just had one really hot day when I was away and could not water my impatiens. It was only a few hours but it seems the damage has been done. 2 of 3 of the main stems has wilted. I have been keeping it indoors out of direct sunlight and it seemed to be thriving before.

Should I remove the wilted stems? Is it possible to put these in water? how long would it take for these to grow enough roots to be planted? I haven't had it for very long, so I'm not sure of the type - possibly New Guinea.

I'm brand-new to this so any information would be greatly appeciated. Thanks!

You can remove them and place them in some water. If they perk up than they should be ok for starting new plants. It depends on the conditions on how quickly they root. Give it a shot you have nothing to loose but two new plants.

Thanks, I've given it a go.

Is there something I can add to the water to help them along? Keep in mind I'm in Japan and don't speak the language very well, so if there's a home remedy available that would be perfect!
