I've grown impatiens for 30 years at this location, mostly from seed but from purchased plants the past few years. This is the first time I've experienced non-blooming, non-growing plants. They didn't look sickly; they just sat there doing nothing. The only variables I can think of are the unusual heat we've had this summer, and weekly applications of Miracle-Gro Bloom Booster. I stopped the MG a few weeks ago, and we got relief from the intense heat around the same timeÂalthough we had a 100-degree day last week. The impatiens have started to grow, and are putting out a few flowers. I think by the time a killing frost hits, they'll be looking really good. :-)

This was my first year using Bloom Booster. It seems to have worked well on the petunias and hydrangea, but perhaps it isn't suitable for impatiens? Or was it just too hot for them?
