how do i care for my new guinea impatien?

I recenlty moved to Hawaii and I am trying to grow my first garden. I have been reluctant to put my NGI in the garden because it is full sun for about 6hrs daily. I have kept my NGI in the house, it has been watered only when needed and fertilized as needed. it is drooping and i'm not sure if i should try to garden this flower or not. Here in Hawaii it stays about mid 80s and it is very humid. In my garden the soil is very thick and clay like. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
