Impatiens namchabarwensis (Blue Diamond Impatiens)

These impatiens grew like weeds from a plant last year in a pot on our patio. The seeds sprouted all over the garden.

We planted one seedling in a pot and this year it was nearly 3' tall, and as wide with so many flowers. Now we have hundreds of cuttings.

Hopefully we will get seed everywhere next year in the woodland garden. The other odd thing about this impatiens is that during the brutal summer without much rain, the plants throughout the garden barely wilted when so many plants needed water. We did not expect that.
