---If they freeze, they will be killed. An alternative is to take cuttings and root them for overwintering. If you bring in the larger plant, it will probably initially go into a decline and drop leaves and flower buds. Eventually it should adapt to the lower light and start to look good again. If you do winter over inside, add minimal water to help prevent the stems rotting, but watch out for spider mites which like dry indoor air (misting the plants occasionally may help).

Impatiens make beeyoootiful houseplants. I like to start new ones from cuttings in late summer, just because I have a small house, and limited space. Right now I have 4 glass bottles of a double pink, and four of red & white stripe. They've put out great roots, and have buds and flowers to boot. I'll pot them up soon.
