growing I. tinctoria seed

Howdy.

So, I finally got around to collecting some seed from my I. tinctoria and was wondering the best way to grow it? I ask because it's late in the season and the mother plant usually goes dormant in winter but I'm not sure the seeds will last over the winter. Also, I tried growing I. glandulifera from seed once and nothing came up.

Any ideas?

I think they can be set out during the winter for you. I got about 5 seeds on mine. They seem to have all rotted. This were tried in a greenhouse and was probably to warm. Impatiens tinctoria is a hardy species and can take temps below freezing. As for I. glandulifera they need a cold spell, these plants have escaped and have spread in Canada.
