impatiens won't bloom

I took some summer "tender annuals" -- impatiens and begonias -- and put them in my terrarium. I'm in Chicago. They are both growing well. The begonias bloom continuously, but the impatiens are all leaves and no flowers. The environment is warm and moist, fluorescent light tubes overhead. I wonder if they want more light, or if they need some kind of stress to start them blooming. These are the common single-flowered impatiens. I also rooted some "New Guini" impatiens, but it's too soon to tell how they are going to do. What do you think?
