Jamlover, see my reply to MonaRae regarding Canna's. I would think that Dahlia's would fall into the same category time frame. :)

Yep -- they do fall into the same catagory as cannas --but again you can give them a head start by planting them in gallon pots.

Mine have been in pots for about a month and range from just peaking to almost a foot tall.

I hope to have blooms by the 15th or so of June. But as a cut flower vendor -- I need as much luck as I can get.

Jamlover, Cathy is exactly right! If you want to give your dahlias a headstart pot them up!! Then put them into the ground after all danger of frost has passed.
