Black birds are gathering

I have a small grove of pines in the back yard. I have so many Black Birds squawking it drives you nuts. I live in the country and I have taken a shot or two in the air. It scares them away, but they are soon back. I know they live in colonies. And if I can break up the colony they move on. I want other birds ,but they seem to disappear with the presence of the Black Bird. Short of just shotting them is there something I can do?

RE: Black birds are gathering

I had a friend with a tree right beside her front door where they roosted. She started using bottle rockets and after a few evenings, they left. Know what you mean about the noise, we have them in our trees and they can almost drive one crazy, but they usually leave after a few days. Mary
