Carpediem,
I have Perennial verbena. I'll check and see if I can fine some. It may not be up yet. I'm just starting to clean off my gardens.Mine is purple and smells wonderful. Blooms all summer off and on. You can send me an email with Perennial Verbena in the subject if interested.
I live by Pella.

Are you referring to Verbena bonariensis? This is also called verbena on a stick because it has long wiry stems. I like the look of this plant. It is hardy zone 7-11. I am in zone 4. I bought seeds this year. I hear it can be grown as an annual and that it will reseed. I'd be interested in anyone elses experience with this plant.

I have the Verbena Bon. and it reseeds itself every year. It gets tall but can be put anywhere as it is airy. Starts blooming around the end of July until frost. I love it and I've seen them in a bed by themselves(very pretty). Also the butterflies just love it!

So many verbena, When I was given mine it was called Hardy verbena. It is a ground cover, with clusters of purple heads about 3inches wide. It only grows to about 6-8inches tall. Looks good in rock gardens and I use it for edging. Can also use it for hanging pots. Hope this helps a little with a better explanation.

Thanks....I didn't specify what verbena!!! I'm looking for the verbena bonariensis. I found one last year at Willow Glen Nursery in Decorah and am "hoping" it will reseed! I volunteered my garden for a garden tour this June and since I work full time....I wonder why did I do that????? Thanks again.

Don't worry___it grows as an annual here, it will reseed and you will probably never be without it again. Want some seed? Let me know.

I travel so often in my work that I'm just now replying! I'd love to have some verbena bonariensis seed. Possibly I may have something to share with you jamlover. I tried to
reply to you but to no avail.

Is the seed sold in stores or do you need to get it from someone in a garden club? I planted in one year with cannas and loved it and would love to have it again.

Thanks so much for your help.

It's sold in stores. I bought a packet this year at the local garden center.
