Welcome to the Iowa Forum. You really have not provided enough information to illicit a good response. Sun? Shade? Wet? Dry? -- Fifty square feet: 5' X 10'(?), 1' X 50'(?) -- Sidewalk material? etc.

For this type of query you really need to post a photo. I know... I know... Spring fever has bitten. ;-)

Hi Ami,

Describe how much sun the area gets and if it's dry or damp. Somebody here will come up with the perfect groundcover for you! I had a heck of a time deciding what to put on a dry north facing bank. I threatened to put creeping charlie on it so we wouldn't have to mow. I'm working on it bit by bit - and not using creeping charlie.
