How long will plants last in the pots they come in?

Didn't realize you had to have the utility companies come mark where the lines are just to take up some sod and plant shrubs. So I have 35 shrubs in my garage. :(

I bought them on Tuesday night and cannot for the life of me remember the name of them. But they're supposedly low maintenance and do well in sun or shade. It might be Monday before I can get them planted, almost a full week. I've watered them a couple times in the garage. Think they'll be ok?

They have been living in those pots for a while already, so they are used to the smell of plastic.
However, they would be much happier if they got some daylight. Plants need light to manufacture their food.
If they were mine, I'd line them up along the side of the garage or someplace else inconspicuous where they'll get some sun. Then be sure to water them frequently.
