Don't forget that this weekend is the Brucemore plant sale, information follows:

Saturday, May 15
9:00 a.m. - Noon

Take home a treasure from Brucemore's greenhouse. The sale features perennial plants. The garden staff is on hand to offer advice. Before you leave, visit the Museum Store to purchase a garden novelty. Listed below are some of the plants available at the sale. This list is subject to change.

Holly Hocks, Lady's Mantle, Colu, bine, French Tarragon, Goats Beard, Astilbe, Clematis, Ceoreopsis, Bleeding Heart, Purple Coneflower Ruby Star, Cranesbill Geranium, Daylily, Hosta, Siberean Iris, Ligularia, Penstemon, Russian Sage, Phlox, Goldsturm Daisy, Sedum.

Also, this Saturday and next Saturday my friend Phillip Mears has his annual hosta sale in Iowa City. Phillip always has great varieties of hostas! Phillip is at 1507 E. College Street. His sale runs 9 to 12 both Saturdays. If for nothing else, go and see his gardens--they are wonderful!

Does Brucemore have these only once a year? I couldn't go and sure would like to make it sometime.

As far as I know, Brucemore only does this once a year. But they are hosting the Eastern Iowa Garden and Landscape show again this year and that usually has several vendors.
