Last night's freeze

| Did anyone take a hit with last night's freeze? I had a few things that looked really sad when I went to the gym this morning (lilys, hosta, and tree peony) and when I came back they didn't look any better, but buy the time I left for work everything looked like it was perking up. I've got my fingers crossed!!

| I grow roses. Usually they are unaffected by frost. While I do not know what our low temperature was, we must have had a freeze. The tender growth on my rose bushes took quite a hit. I hope I do not lose any. The freeze weakened some plants, especially the roses already suffering transplant shock. |

| Well, I really didn't lose anything to the frost the other night. Everything seemed to snap out of it and the tree peony is blooming it's little heart out now. We seemed to have gotten hail about 3 am this morning, but it was probably small marble size and pretty scattered. I understand that part of Iowa City got golf ball size hail... ouch. Diann IA Z5a |

Diann, I am dreading going home to see how everything survived. I heard about the hail on the radio this am on the way to work....I hope it's okay..... Leslie |
