Is it too late to plant potatoes?

Posted by monarae z4 IOWA (My Page) on

I live up in Northern Iowa, and just got my garden tilled. Now it's been raining, or I haven't been home to plant.
Is it too late for potatoes? I have had them for a few weeks, with good intentions. They are the red Pontiac kind.
Thanks for any advice or info!

The state extension office website says you can plant until the middle of May so I'd say go for it!

Here is a link that might be useful: IA Veggie Garden Planting Dates
