| My husband and I have planted corn 2 years in a row. Both years we've had problems with it falling over, probably after a heavy rain or wind. The only thing we can think of that might be causing it is where our garden is located. Our back yard is down lower than our front yard. Is it possible the wind/rain is whipping around down in the lower area of our yard? If so, is there anything we can do to prevent it this year? What else could it be? Thanks!!

| Falling over? That's weird -- I've never heard of that. My corn always grows straight as an arrow. I suppose it could be how your yard is arranged. Perhaps plant something as a windbreak? |

| When I've had corn fall over due to high winds, I simply go out and straighten it and then hill it with some dirt. Usually, it recovers and continues to grow straight. I'm not the corn expert though! This may or may not work for you - depending on how much corn you grow. |

| I wonder if you have a root worm or other insect problem. This is what can happen with field corn with insect damage. |
