anny one eles farming garlic on a large scale here in iowa.just wondering what verietys others are growing.im growing carpathian,asian tempest,chestnook red,brown rose,german white,romanian,and bajatyr.15,000 plants in all,this fall im puting in 25% more than last fall.all my garlic beds are organic.

so what verietys are you growing and what area of the state?have you benn geting scapes up yet? ive benn geting some up with a few verietys the others are starting.makes it like work when they pop out at diffrent times instead of all at once.What kind of soil are you useing?Doi you mulch?ok thats it for now ,just wanting to compare notes.have a great day

I have a hard time just getting a little garlic to grow. I like the reddish type that a friend brings me from mexico. I have 2 small plants started. Going to try again this fall to add more. Where is your farm? I'd like to see this set up. I live on a farm, but garlic isn't one of the crops. I see that you have some Cedar Falls companies listed on your web site. I am in Black Hawk county.
