With four-foot drifts to protect the ground, I am rather shocked that my oriental lilies are doing so poorly! Not even a foot tall and only two or three buds forming. Anyone else noticed this? I didn't know if it was because it has been too wet? I am not at all happy. They did so well last year!
Follow-Up Postings:

I've had oriental lillies not even come up some years only to come back the next year. They don't like wet feet and I've heard with clay soils like I have, it can be a challenge.

Orienpet lily bulbs do much better, super even, with our hot summers, if you can deal with the height of most of them. I also have success with asiatic lilies. No luck here with orientals, or martagons, and somewhat marginal with the tender trumpets.
