Chamaecyparis

I'm in the Des Moines area and was wondering if anyone has had any luck growing any chamaecyparis species around Iowa. I've seen some Nootka Pendula around, but none that are mature. I've heard that they usually end up dieing. Any advice is appreciated.

wow, just noticed this was posted 2 years ago! I'm in the Iowa city area and planted one about 3 (?) years ago...it's a small one...maybe 3 feet tall now...but doing fine.

thanks for the info. I noticed one at the Iowa State fairgrounds. Looks to be about 7-8 ft. tall.
