Who's eating tomatoes?

| Anyone out there getting tomatoes from their own gardens yet? We have had a couple of little ones from a variety called Fourth of July. They make me want MORE!! |

so far i had 2 little cherry tomatoes, very tasty :) then a critter got the next 2 right before they were fully ripened :( still have a roma and a full sized(i forget the name) waiting to ripen. hopefully i get them before some(thing) else does.... mic |

me---me--me!!!! I have had a bunch of yellow cherry tomatoes and the yellow pears are full--but not quite ripe!! NOTHING tastes like that first'garden ripe'tomato...yummmmmmmmmm Jeanette |

| YES! I have watched a squirrel take a half ripe tomato right off the plant, take one bite, and leave with it. Relocation has been our best solution, and 30+ squirrels later, I can say that I have gotten over my initial reservations about 'interferring with nature'. Your county DNR office has live traps that they loan out for free, and they'll tell you where you can take the animals to release them. |

| This week we ate 4 Cherokee Purples, a Marianna's Peace and an unknown pink that was supposed to a Great White. The tomato crop is very good, but still a bit green---we need more sun and heat. |

I picked 4 nice Big Girl tomatoes today. Actually 2 of them would have been ready 2-3 days ago. I was checking in the wrong spot & almost missed them.We have been enjoying the smaller Pixie tomatoes for quite awhile now. I used the last of my Pixie seed & can't find anymore.These are larger & tastier & earlier than other salad tomatoes. Iris |
