Garden Show at Brucemore

Just got home from a wonderful day in Cedar Rapids, despite the rain. Everyone involved is to be commended for putting on such a nice event and being such good sports about the weather. The rain maybe shrank the crowds a little, but anyone who missed it really missed something good. Lucinda Mays and the Lee's were a delight, and I just can't believe the extent of their knowledge! Absolutely a m a z i n g !!!

Ugh! Our Iowa Gourd Society hosted a couple tables. It was a lot of fun, but us and the poor Honey Producers had the muddiest spots in the whole place! LOL! It really tested out our finishes. I have to admit, mine and another gals came out the best. She used a poly urethane and I used Spar urethane. It was a beautiful event. My husband and I walked around the grounds and no matter how many times I see it, I'm just amazed at the talent that some folks have. The rain was a bummer, but overall it was a pretty good day. :) glad you enjoyed it too!!

I was sick. There was no way I could have been at Brucmore this year. I really hated it, but alas, there is always next year.

Did they do the presentations outside?

I missed it this year too. I was supposed to have the day off but it didn't work out that way. I was NOT happy about it either. Sorry I missed seeing your gourds, Marcy. I hope you'll be there again next year so I can see them.

Hey gals, it's OK cricket. It was a terribly rainy, wet, muddy day. The presentations they tucked inside the visitor center and I missed them both!! DARN IT! And I guess they're only having this show every other year now. So there won't be a show in 2005, but in 2006. I'm not sure why they decided to do this, but maybe they'll come up with something new in the meantime.

I guess we could have been worse. We could have had lawn sprinklers! (though the people that did have the lawn sprinklers were VERY nice and had a good sense of humor about it :)
