i must have missed this forum, i'm on a farm in north central iowa, i guess the big news from here is all the rain we got over 8 inches. although the crops aren't quite ready to bring in this rain is a huge set back. our fields did ok but lots of others didn't it's sad to get wiped out like that just days before harvest. getting ready to put my garden to bed for the winter.. still got lots of tomatoes though. also i have some late snap peas that came up as volunteers i'm excited to see what will happen.

RE: hi neighbors

Around here had the rains 3 weeks ago. 11 inches in 2 days+ very high winds. Lot of the corn flat as a pancake.Saw some of the farmers doing test run-combine wouldn't do the job. Lot getting moldy now. And no-one has hogs to feed it to.Or fenced in land to contain them if they had any. But 3 weeks ago couldn't buy a sump-pump all gone. Glad we allways have extra just incase one burns out. But now we have skeeters -BIG time.

not quite ready to harvest here although i did see some one took some beans. most of the places that flooded here aways flood and people know it so they avoid planting there, we got about the same ammount this spring too. made up for the really dry year we had last year.we are supposed to hit 90 degrees tomarrow. i guess summers not going out with out a fight. i love fall but i always hate to see summer go.

Mona from Wesley here. Hubby works in Titonka.
I know what you mean about fall. Winters are getting harder on me every year. Love the spring though!
