dwarf pine/fir

I've been trying to find a dwarf tree that will grow here in the midwest. I am looking for a pine or fir type tree that gets anywere from 6-20 ft tall. Pyramidal or conical in shape. Any suggestions? I don't like how dense the alberta dwarf spruce is.

How about columnar yew or an arbovitae? I have had both in my yard for 15+ years, so I know they are hardy here.

Post your question in the conifer forum. There are plenty of options and those guys can tell you what best fits your needs.
