Dayliliy Blooms on Columbus Day

I have a daylily that finally bloomed this week.

I bought a bag of 10 DL bulbs/tubers at Wal*Mart in June that had been marked down to half price. I just planted them between my euyonmous and covered them with mulch. By the 4th of July they all had sprouted and I had little green spikes about 8" tall.

Several of them bloomed in early August ... but the one in the most shade just bloomed this week.

I saw the flower buds on it last week... but I figured the frost would prevent it from blooming. But, it persevered!

Cheap thrills like that are hard to beat.

Janice Brown has been blooming for three weeks now. Almost didnt buy this plant thinking she was just going to be another pink, but she is a very nice rebloomer, this year.
