Planting trees/shrubs in the fall

| My husband and I are planning to plant a dwarf flowering plum and some shrubs on Sunday. We have not purchased them yet. Is it still okay to plant or should we wait until spring? We are in Des Moines. |

| Fall is an excellent time to plant trees and shrubs. Keep watering them until the ground freezes. |
