| michael357, I do not know what pest you are protecting against but the fruit can be vulnerable still. An enterprising insect will find a way to breach the tight fitting stocking. It will be more effective if it can be formed into a "bubble" around the fruit. Mosquito nets do not protect the sleeper if it 'drapes' on to exposed skin. |

| Oriental fruit moth is the problem. I didn't have any problem with the footies on the peaches but forgot to leave a few fruit sans footie to see if OFM didn't show up in 2008. Oh yes, didn't spray for OFM either. From what I've read, you have to get the footies on before OFMs show up to lay their eggs, duh, but that isn't always going to be easy to do. I'm planning to give it another go this year, hopefully no killing frosts. |
