Do beneficial nematodes work against carp. ants?

| I was wondering if beneficial nematodes would work against carpenter ants in our yard (and our tree!). Anyone have experience or knowledge? Is there a particular species of benny nematode I should look for? |

| Nope. As for the tree, the carpenter ants are in the dead part of the tree. They did not kill that part of the tree nor are they damaging the living portion of the tree. |

| They may not be damaging any living portions, but they'll chew away until the tree is so weak it topples through our house with a gust of wind. Carpenter ants hollowed out a 4-foot diameter willow in my parents backyard. It was this-close to cracking and going straight through their nieghbors' living room. And, of course, that's not to say the ants won't chew through our house either. Anyone know of any organic (or as organic as possible) means of eliminating a carpenter ant colony? (Not just moving, eliminating.) |
