i don't think so! I think they are toads and they eat insects so they are beneficial. And adorable!

They sell toad houses to protect them because they are so valuable.

You must live near a pond, creek, lake, or other body of water. Toads and frogs would be considered a normal, healthy sign. Your animal is a toad.

The large numbers won't last long...they will disperse. I really wish that I had a bunch of toads to help keep slugs and grubs at bay in the garden.

Frogs need a water source, a pond, lake, stream, to live in and will seldom be found very far from that water source. Toads, however, do not need those water sources and I have many in my garden where there is no pond, lake, or stream (closer than 1/2 mile), although they do need a cool, moist place to live which can be provided by a toad house.
We also have around here Spring Peepers, small members of the frog family and here most likely because of the high water table we have. From about mid March to mid April the nightly chorus can get deafening.

I'm sure that you didn't intend to hint that toads don't require a water source in order to begin their little lives, kimmsr. That toad looks like it was a mere tadpole until very recently....swimming happily (in water) wherever it were born, like the good amphibian it is.
