something interested me today.

Generally, moles in my yard is nothing new. At least that's what I think they are. Common trails and the occasional exit hole.

In my back yard I have a 55 gallon steel drum that I burn things in.

Today my son and I were playing in the backyard and I tilted the drum up and saw trails and holes exposed which I assumed to be a miles dwelling.

One large area (about the size of one and a half adult sized hands) was full of feces... well, scattered, but all isolated in that one area. The feces was a little bigger than mouse feces, and was kind of greying as if it had been there a while.

So I am curious.. are moles generally clean animals? Pooping in the same area? Or would this be more of a chipmunk dwelling?
