Fruit fly repellant?

I have millions of fruit flies in my worm/composting bin. They become a disgusting and annoying cloud every time I open it. Is there some way to naturally repel these pests? Thanks very much!!

Keep the lid tightly closed.

Then, either bury any new additions in the bin, or cover with fresh bedding.
