 o
deer deterrent

Tell me what you think of this idea. Mix up something that deer hate the smell of, (for example, the eggs mixed in water), put some into a margarine tub and set the tub on the ground in the middle of whatever you're trying to protect. Cover the tub with an overturned bucket and place a weight on the overturned bucket to stop the wind from blowing it over. The smell should escape around the edge of the bucket on the uneven ground, and the rain wouldn't wash away the egg mixture or dilute it. My thoughts are that it would save a lot of work after a rain. Has anybody tried this?

RE: deer deterrent

The only reason a deer would not munch on any plant is that the plant did not smell good, or taste good. I have seen deer munch on plants that were sprayed with a deer repelent several hours prior to that.
