Mexican Bean Beetle larvae! Help me get rid of them!

Hi all,
I'm dealing with a serious infestation of these critters (Bean Beetles). They've come a lot earlier than they did last year(showed up around August) and I didn't think I'd hafta worry about them till later on. So now, since they're currently decimating my beans, I was kinda hoping to kill as many of them as possible in as little time as possible so I won't lose my bean crop; preferably without harming my resident pollenators. I heard Marigolds helped deter them, but I have no room in the garden for flowers; they'd get trampled with all the traffic out there. So is there some kind of native plant I could put in to attract beneficial bugs to help me with my problem? Or maybe a spray of some sort? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Abby

These black sheep of the Lady Beetle family are really destructive, so due diligence in using any chemical to control them is needed because what will adversly affect these buggers will also adversly affect any beneficial insects.
Planting some soybeans as a trap crop can help as can using floating row covers and encouraging parasites and predators to stick around and growing deterent plants, next year, but for this year juditious applications of Neem Oil or pyrethrin dusts or sprays may be what is necessary.

I'll look into getting some Neem Oil; I've heard pretty good thigs about it. Maybe Wal-Mart or the local nursery will carry it.

My beans usually get covered but they don't usually get really bad until just about the time we're through picking beans for the season. This year I've planted bush beans which are flowering now and pole beans which come later. I too would like to keep them under control. I usually end up pulling up the plants at the end of the season and burning them along with the larvae that ate all of the leaves. If I use a row cover how would the beans get pollinated? Iv'e only seen a few beetles so far and have hand picked them but like cucumber beetles they drop off the plant if you're not fast enough. I don't want to spray anything because I have 6 honey bee hives in the back yard. Do these beetles have any predators?
