Baited Diatameous Earth for Garden Roaches

| Does anyone have recommendations for what to mix with D.E. as bait for garden roaches? In the past, I've used Safer's baited D.E. and it seemed to work purty well, but there are two problems with that now:
1) it is realatively expensive, compared to plain D.E.
2) my local garden supply now longer seems to carry the Safer baited D.E. They carry a lot of other Safer proudcts, but not this one.
I don't know if the garden roaches (aka Water Bugs) are actually harmful in my yard and garden, but they are sort of disgusting and I certainly don't see any benefit to them. Thankfully, tho', they don't seem to come inside.
Thanks,

| The names "Garden Roaches" and/or "Water Bugs" sometimes are used for Pillbugs or Sowbugs even though there are specific insects with those names. If what you are refering to are really the Pillbugs or Sowbugs they are part of Ma Natures recycling machine and really do not need to be "controlled" as long as there is enough dead organic matter left for them to work on. They can be pests in gardens with little, or no, dead organic matter for them to feed on. |

| In general, the guiding philosphy is "if they stay outdoors, then they can live" but "if they come indoors, they're gone!" |

| The Ohio State Fact Sheet lists the most common means of control as Boric Acid, the same thing I've told people to use for years for cockroaches, but only in the house. |
