It appears we have a family of raccoons nearby as we've trapped two in 2 days. My chicken growing neighbors are begging me to kill them as they are killing their chickens. We have not. Instead, we hv released them in seemingly remote/abandoned acreage . Questions:

Can they find their way back?
Any strong argument for killing? I have no problems shooting squirrels, but some other critter....plus the mess that you hv to clean up

Our animal control dept will pick them up and release, don't know where but the last two times I called them, they sent an inexperienced guy who actually mishandled and the animals got away! That is why we got our own traps

Finally, if I had the remote acreage, I'm not so sure I would appreciate people dumping their unwanted critters. I will appreciate your comments
