This cutie has been boarding on my Canna leaves for least 3 days...I don't want to get rid of him/her, as it may be a potentially beautiful butterfly.

I'm pasting a link that may help you. It is a website maintained by someone in the UK, but it is still quite useful for caterpillars in the US. It clusters photos by types - you may spot your caterpillar there.

If not - you may want to come to the Butterfly forum here, or even go over to the cannas forum!
