Thick Centipedes

We have found two huge centipedes (maybe) in the house. They are almost as thick as worms and are brownish redish. Does this mean there's a nest somewhere? We've never seen them before. Don't know if they are centipedes really, they are longer with many legs.

No nest indoors, this because they require more moisture than is indoors. Outdoors, they're helpful predators.

I had to get a new hose faucet recently, it was the same side of the house that we found them too. Wonder if we disturbed them? Guess they are centipedes then. They bite don't they?
