Wasps eat ants?

I posted this somewhere in a thread about ants in impatiens (but can't remember where): I noticed this year that some sort of wasps took a real liking to a pot of impatiens (right next to the door, of course). Then (much later), I realized we haven't seen as many ants around as we usually see in the summer. I wonder, could the wasps be hunting them on the impatiens? The wasps seem to just kind of sit there or crawl around on the flowers. I don't think there is a nest in there, there's really not much activity. They seem to just sit there mostly.

RE: Wasps eat ants?

Wasps do eat insects and ants are insects so the probability is there. Ants are a real good protein source.
