 o
possible pest ID/ egg clusters on fennel

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if I should be worried or not about several clusters of pin head sized eggs on my stalks of fennel. I was hoping for butterfly eggs but they would only be singles and these are two clusters of 6/7 eggs each on the stalk, not leaves, of the fennel. They are black or brown.

Ring any bells with anyone?

Susan, trying to figure out if what will come out will be good or bad

I personally wouldn't be worried about twelve to fourteen eggs, but would watch and see what they turn out to be. Are there significant numbers of any pests in your garden that you suspect may be the source of the eggs?

they may be fall army worms... hard to tell without a photo. They will lay on anything and usually in rows. If they are more grouped in a circle or cluster they are probably some type of true bug.
