Mealy Bugs are related to the scales but are a bit easier to dislodge with a sharp stream of water and that is where I would start. Many places suggest cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol and many others suggest starting with some of the most toxic poison there are.

Can I immerse my cuttings in some sorta liquid - maybe vinegar for like 15 mins ,will it kill the generations (eggs, larvae etc)?
