Godzilla Catepillar

I am hoping someone can help identify a HUGE catepillar we found crawling into our house. It was approx 4 inches long and the size of a nickel in diameter. Green with 4 yellow horns on the head (?). It did have a few hairs, but very scarce. Also, it appeared that the 'skin' was hard like a shell. Creepy little guy! Thanks for your help.

Perhaps the hickory horned devil?

Here is a link that might be useful: hickory horned devil

It resembles that except the horns were smaller and it did not have the type of 'legs' this one does. The legs were like the ones in the back. Thank you though!

I was amazed and afraid when I unearthed a catepillar about 3 1/2" long and about a dime size in diameter...it was buried in dirt-- is brown w/small diamond-like shapes on the sides of it's body. I have a sweet potato vine, hostas, lantana and asters growing in the bed- I reburied, because I don't have any idea what it is or does! Geez, I'm going to stop going barefoot.
any ideas on this monster?
