winter moths

The winter moths are flying on Cape Cod now. Is there anything that can be done to knock these guys out now, or do I have to wait until the eggs hatch in early spring?
Last spring, bt was "somewhat effective" on small trees, but if I could prevent my large cherry trees from being defoliated, that'd be better.
Any ideas?
