I dont know for sure! it was a free lot of starts from a lady on another forum last fall. It was to late to plant them out so I put them in a window box and put them in the greenhouse to over winter. I will see if I can fin out from her what type they are. The stands are a very pale lavender. It has been open now for more than a week. Wonderful for a winter sour person like me.

It appears to be a Dutch Iris.

You are right tel, she said they were a dutch iris. It is still open and lovely after more than a week. Now I need to find the right spot for them out in the yard.

Aquawise,

Your Dutch iris bulbs will be safer in your greenhouse. Zone 4 is pushing the limit of what they will take in the way of winter temps.

Love your poppies!!

So if I leave them in the window box all year that would be OK? It goes into the green house every winter.
