bearded iris in zone 9 central florida

I miss the iris we had in New Hampshire. Some of the catalogs I have received recently say that their iris will grow in zone 9. My sister who has lived down here for many yers and is a tremendous gardner says no.

ANybody have any experience? Thanks very much.

"Pure As Gold" grows and blooms in Honolulu, zone 10. However, I think the high humidity keeps it from growing vigorously.
