Digging Iris

I have an iris bed that is full of poison ivy. The only way I can get rid of the ivy is to dig up my iris and try to take care of the poison ivy come spring. My question is: The iris already have sent up leaves. I dug them and need to know how to keep them until I can replant in a month or two?? Can I just leave them in my wagon, in a single layer with no soil, or should I add some moist sawdust, ground leaves at the bottom of the layer..Any help is appreciated. Also I will be selling some, what would be a good way to present them at the market? bare root I would say. Thanks..
