There are quite a few vendors who still sell historic iris.

If you want to collect historics you should consider joining HIPS (Historic Iris Preservation Society). HIPS has a number of display gardens registered that you could visit. They have an annual member's sale and also one of the members keeps a detailed spreadsheet of vendors who sell various historic iris.

If you join you can access the spreadsheet from the group's web forums plus they have a large collection of photos and descriptons online.

I just purchased all the stock from an iris & daylily display garden that contains a lot of historics so I may be selling in the future but first have to see them bloom to verify ID's and also move the collection.
