Some iris take a couple years to settle in before they bloom . They also won,t bloom if they don,t have enough sun or if they are crowded.

Would morning shade and afternoon sun be enough? How far apart should the rhizomes be planted so they're not overcrowding each other. If need be, I can replant them in a sunnier area today. Do I need to fertilize them? Thanks again.

They should get a minimum of six hours sun. I plant the rhizomes pretty close- about eight inches apart, but most people recommend at least 12 inches if you do not want to divide again in two years. I do not fertilize mine since nitrogen can make them rot. Some people give a low nitrogen fertilizer to them. Make sure the rhizome top is exposed when you plant them.
