First Iris bloom of the year--Iris tectorum

I love this iris...blooms reliably in full shade when all the hostas and ferns are emerging.

Beautiful and the hosta behind it is beautiful, too. What's the variety (always looking for hosta varieties that do well in zone 8)?

That hosta is June and is does beautifully for me in zone 8(b)...one of the best. I have it in several different places. A lot of hostas just get smaller each year here (South Carolina..lower part of state), but June actually gets a few more eyes each year and the color is lovely. I have that iris in white as well and it looks good with Potomac...a dark green hosta that does well in zone 8 also.
