First Iris Blooms of 2012

I have stalks all over the place and they have started blooming. In prior years SPOT STARTER was always my first Tall Bearded Iris to bloom but not this year.

KICKAPOO KANGAROO opened yesterday so officially my first TB bloom of the season!

BLOCKBUSTER opened today.

My dutch iris are starting to bloom. This is the first one blooming which actually beat those TB iris to open before they did. I think this is APOLLO.

Also open today are this Siberial Iris, CHINA SPRING.

Here is the clump of CHINA SPRING yesterday. As you can see they were not open. But this is a very early Siberian. None of my other Sibs even have buds yet.

The odd part of this spring is here my TB and dutch iris have started to bloom and the latest of my daffodils are still blooming. This is COPPER QUEEN.

Not only daffs, but the last of my tulips are also still blooming. This is late flowering tulip SORBET.

It really has been an odd spring. Never have I had daffs, tulips and iris all blooming at once before.

Rita--love all your flowers, even if they have their schedules all mixed up! Mine are having the same problem--but we love them anyway, don't we!

Love the color of Kickapoo Kangaroo! Isn't it funny, my Siberian iris just started blooming, saw the first bloom yesterday. Well, just went back & saw where you said this is a very early one. I have Caesar's Brother & a yellow one, can't remember the name but very common. Butter & eggs maybe.
I'm so glad your iris are starting to bloom, I'm looking forward to your photos!

Your tulips are so precious.
My irises are acting strange this year- many blooming on short stalks, some are blooming much later than usual and some are earlier. Weird.
